(Eva Mendez is Flat-Out Gorgeous! I saw her on The Conan O’Brian Show a few nights ago, and wasn’t too impressed with her personality (She “Giggled” A Little Too Much, & Seemed A Little “Silly” For My Taste), But If There’s One Physical Attraction I Have to A Hollywood Celebrity, Here She Is! Her Clear, Exotic Skin Tone Makes Her “Look”, in My Opinion.. Look at the Way the Light Bounces Off Her.. Her.. Neck and Chest :).. Good Skin Can You Make You Shine Like a Flower That’s Had the Perfect Amount of Sun! That Was Border-Line Poetic..)

Great muscles on irritated, dry, rough skin isn’t what we’re looking for! I continue to refer to the “look” that we’re going for, as the “Hollywood Look”.. This is a combination of lean & toned muscle, low body fat, clean cut grooming, & healthy glowing skin.. 50% of ”Hollywood Look” is Glowing, Healthy Looking Skin.. Even high paid Actors & Actresses become extremely vulnerable & insecure when their skin is acting up (Note Jessica Simpson & the “Hollywood Like” narrating the Proactive Solution Commericals).. Skin care is one of those aspects of a woman’s body that is taken care of day in and day out and they shine like the sun because of it.. Have you ever seen an attractive a girl without beautiful skin? Most people look cover models & comment on their perfect teeth, great bone structure, beautiful muscle tone, but all of this is overshadowed with blotchy skin.. Why do women have to be the only ones conscious about skin care? Is it a bad thing to be a man and take care of your skin?? The guy you see on the cover of the magazine has perfect skin.. Don’t overlook this maintenance step in your daily regimen.. I had the opportunity to play a small role in a film in 2002 as a Lifeguard @ the beach.. (What a great story that goes along with how I landed the part, but I won’t go into that now.. It was Classic story of being @ the right place at the right time.. BUT, being “out there” in the mix is where opportunity is created, and it paid off big time for me..) Before I showed up to the set, I was told to bring my cleanest looking skin.. Hollywood puts a premium on actors/actresses with good skin & complexion, and its something that will trump all your hard work in the gym, if you don’t take good care of it.. To me, the most attractive women in the world are Latin, Italian, Brazilian women.. I love their exotic looks and dark hair (Just my preference), but probably the most attractive aspect of these ethnicity’s is their glowing, thick, radiant skin.. I’ve seen guys with great muscle tone be plagued by sun-damaged skin, & acne camouflaugin their hard work in the gym.. Most forms of oil based skin problems, or even dry skin such as rosacea and dermatitis are typically genetic; however, you have the ability to make this better if you want to.. I would suggest you take great care of your skin & always be conscious of what’s going on with it.. To be athletically lean without good skin, is almost moot.. Let’s look at how Men & Women can take better of their skin..

Larry Obviously Has Great Genetics, but Without Low Body Fat Levels from Exercsie & a Healthy Lifestyle, His “Look” Takes a Backseat to Less-Than-Perfect Features.. EVERYONE Has the Ability to Improve Their Appearance with Lean and Healthy Fitness..)

There are so many great things that happen when you get in shape & drop body fat levels.. First of all, reducing the risk of illness is something that has become the most important to me.. Getting lean, and looking toned used to be the biggest advantage for me to getting in shape, but its now “riding shotgun” to the health of my “ticker” (Ticker=Heart.. I’m fresh out of the gates, riding the Pun’s & Metaphors hard.. :)) The most common theme on my site is creating a better “look” to give you more confidence, but this is never to be overshadowed by the inner-cleansing from exercise and wellness.. Scary concepts like, high blood pressure, heat attacks, & diabetes are common topics of conversation around my family dinner table, so believe me when I say, turning and burning miles on the treadmill & eating clean, natural foods is to keep me from falling victim to illnesses wrath! HOWEVER, since we’re doing all this work to detoxify our bodies & keep our heart beating like a new drum, you’ll be glad to know that your “look” is also improving.. In this post, I’m not talking specifically about your abs, or your chiseled arms, but specifically about your face.. Your face will improve dramatically by cutting body fat and getting in shape.. Everything from the sharpness in your eyes, to the overall shape of your face will improve with lower levels of body fat, tipping the scales on your attractiveness!

Steve Reeves Is A “Lean & Fit” Legend..

(Steve Reeves in Hercules was Lean, Strong, Not Overdone, & Natural.. This 1950’s California Kid is the One Fitness Model Pioneer I’ve Always Admired & Patterned My Strategies After.. I Don’t See Reeves as a “Bodybuilder” because His Size & Look Is More Similar to Today’s Fitness Models. Steve Was More of an Aesthetically Balanced Trainer that Didn’t Want to Ruin His Hollywood Looks with Grossly, Overgrown Muscle Mass.. Steve is a true legend of “Get Lean” Fitness..)

While everyone was obsessing over Arnold Schwarzenegger’s gigantic muscles, I was busy studying 1950’s Steve Reeves workout & diet strategies.. I always felt Arnold’s huge arms, and mammoth chest were the by-product of superb genetics and steroids, so mimicking Arnold’s workout would burn me out more than build a 54″ chest.. Steve Reeves was a pure & natural, blue collar guy in the weight room that just outworked everyone, & I really respect that.. He didn’t have the genetics, or steroid support, Arnold had, and was never focused on King Kong mass like bodybuilders of today.. Steve Reeves was a California Kid that valued aesthetics, & clean, good looking muscle that looked as great at the beach, as they did on the Fitness Stage..  He was big, but not too big or overdone, & looks more like a fitness model than a conventional bodybuilder.. He took the “Strongman” mold from the early 20th century, & pioneered those techniques into Muscle-Shaping regimes to create a well balanced strong, & attractive body.. He was always well-groomed, and represented a bodybuilding style that I see as acceptable and a regime worth looking into.. When I’m faced with adversity in any niche of my life, I always go back to the fundamentals & “basics” to clear confusion & redefine purpose.. Too many people look for the “quickest & easiest shortcut” to get results when approached by difficulty, but I think the fundamentals never change & have to be resorted too.. Steve Reeves represents the foundation of natural clean, lean muscle shaping, so his plan is the fundamental for me if I’ve ever in a “funk” in a need of a shock of lean muscle growth.. (Arnold used high octane steroids to create his look, so its hard to decipher what his real, clean aesthetic really is.. Because of this, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s regime has never inspired me.. His results are blind to my mind because of the abusive, steroid use.. The thing I do like most about Arnold though would have to be his personality.. I think muscles got his foot in the Hollywood door, BUT his cocky/arrogant confidence is what made him great.. He really was a pretty funny & intelligent guy with a well-devised plan to become a Hollywood Star..) Let’s look into what Steve Reeves valued to make his body one of the most Legendary Fit and Attractive Bodies of all time..

When Muscles Get Too Big & Bulky!! “Tone” It Down..

(Whoa! Whoa!… Crazy Huh… Whoa!)

My arms don’t fit into my sleeves of my shirt anymore! My big back won’t let my arms relax at my side! My neck is busting out of my dress shirt like the Incredible Hulk! Are these symptoms the reality your physique has created? Or maybe you’re not quite too big now, but you see the Fit Bus heading down the road to bulkiness.. As I’ve mentioned before, I went through a phase of getting “jacked” and trying to look as big as possible, but now other goals have influenced my focus and I’m no longer looking to grow my traps up to my ears.. Do you think people REALLY want to look like Ronnie Coleman? Does Jay Cutler have a physique that looks attractive in normal, casual clothes?? Just last weekend I had the luxury of spending some quality time with 3 beautiful ladies at a Sarasota Nightly “Hot Spot”.. This classy restaurant/bar attracts an entourage of Sarasota’s Premier Young Professionals, Ex-Big Business Owners who are retiring in the sun, & some of the most beautiful & intelligent women in Florida. While we’re carousing and exchanging stories of past laughs and good times, I notice an “Incredible Hulk-Like” figure walking by us with these traps busting out of his dress shirt, neck marinated in veins, & kind of a pissed off look on his face.. (Beefy Guys sometimes have a look that says “Don’t mess with me, or deal with my muscles!”) So, I asked my lady friends, “What do you girls think of that?” One girl comments, ”Scarrry! That guy looks like he’s coming to eat me..” Another girl notes, “He’s so cheesy-looking.. He’s gotta be on steriods..” Big, swollen muscles are cheesy-looking! This guy didn’t even look comfortable in his own skin (which is the worst part).. He had very nice clothes that spoke highly for his clean cut effort, but his body looked “stuffed” in his nice clothes! Even if you’re not on steriods, people assume you are, when you’re too thick with muscle.. Is that the presentation you want to deliver? Is that the type of attention you want brought to yourself?? Not only does having a nice lean, toned, & trim body get you more positive attention from the opposite sex, but this is more of a sustainable look & a healthier functionality for your body.. Let’s dig into the overdeveloped muscle plan, & see if we can unravel a few things to get your body away from the bulk, & saying goodbye to the Hulk!

“Energy In Vs. Energy Out”.. A Way to Think About Getting Lean

(Gabrielle Reese & Laird Hamilton are 2 athletes with Lean Bodies that aren’t advocates of Low-Carb, Calorie-Cutting Diets.. They Fuel Lean Muscle with Quality, Rich Food Energy, While Expending Lots of Energy To Keep Fat off Their Body and Metabolism Flying.. Great Bodies are Great Eaters!)

For years, I’ve researched & played with different formulas and programs to get me the most pleasing looking, & feeling body I can possible carve out of my genetics.. I am a “formula type of person” that loves structure in anything I’m doing.. I feel like the most successful people in any environment have some form of structure to how they operate their craft, that gives them vision and purpose.. Most tasks become really tough when you have no idea where you are going.. I’ve seen big businesses crumble because the leader stopped communicating vision to his subordinates and this totally unravels structure.. I want you to maintain structure in your fitness regmine & never lose sight of what it takes to have a great physique.. This concept of “Energy In vs. Energy Out” will dictate what direction you are aiming for with your fitness goals.. I see most people looking to get in shape and the first thing they do is cut calories.. I personally think this is an unhealthy way to get lean.. I actually want you to consider taking in MORE calories (The right kind of calories) while increasing the intensity of your cardio & strength training workouts.. Doing this will create more of a lean, toned look, instead of a skinny, flat, & deflated body.. The concept we’ll analyze to acheive this is “Energy In vs. Energy Out”.. Let’s dig in!

Carbohydrates - MUST Eats For a Lean & Toned Physique!

As I’ve mentioned in a number of recent posts, diet is 70% (maybe even 80%) of the success of your fitness program.. A bad diet in a fitness strategy, is like a painter with a bristleless brush. (I love a great metaphor!).. Much like the painter and his brush, your body’s canvas is dressed in the foods you eat.. I referred to an important concept in the last paragraph in “Rep Range for Building lean Muscle” post.. The Way You “look” is a reflection of what you eat.. Bulky Bodies aren’t eating clean. I’ve taken weeks at a time away from weight lifting and kept my diet clean and lean, and my body actually toned up even more.. The weights will be something you need time away from to recharge your body, but the way you feed your body is an everyday thing that has to be mastered to look lean, tight, and toned..

Know Your Genetics to Put Your Best Beach Body on the Sand

Ahhh.. Life is good.. Myself along with a few friends, just returned last night to Sarasota from a relaxing weekend escape to the Bahamas.. We checked out the surf, enjoyed Bahamian night life, & met some great people.. For the past 6 weeks, I’ve pressed very hard to meet a number of my business & fitness goals, & its really paid off.. My body is lean & beach ready, & a couple of my business ventures have exploded with production. So, I rewarded myself with this little “no worries, “mon” vacation treat, and I’m looking forward to the next one.. While I was gone, I got a chance to think about you & your fitness.. I got really creative while laying on their beaches, so I’m really looking forward to a number of the upcoming posts I’m gonna deliver.

I noticed some lean attractive bodies while out of the country, but its interesting how many unique body types there are in need of different sculpting strategies.. Its important for you not to “work against your genetics” because that could lead to body fat retention or underdevelopment of dense muscle.. I want to lay out the different genetic shapes & give you areas of focus to give you a Lean and Toned Beach Body worthy of Hollywood sex appeal.. The goal is to move away from being a “black & white” body type, & create more of a blend giving you what your genetics are missing..

                 

Ectomorph

The Movie “Fight Club” was swarmed with Ectomorph bodies.. Brad Pitt, Jared Leto, Ed Norton all have  fragile & delicate frames that appear to be lightly muscled with definition.. Usually you’ll see narrow shoulders, small bones, thin wrists, skinny legs, and a hyper-fast metabolism here with this group.. Ectomorphs look great in Hollywood films because the camera adds roughly 10lbs (& 2 inches of height), & lean with a little muscle tone is a great look that fits well in clothes and shows off definition.. However, just because your ecto, doesn’t necessarily mean your lean..

The “Hollywood Male Model Look”

Plenty of Eye Candy here for the ladies! (I owe you one guys.. Its coming soon.. “Land the Slammin Beach Body-Ladies Edition”.. A little advice for the ladies & plenty of pics for my boys!) I’m an avid reader of Gentleman’s Quarterly Magazine, Men’s Health, Details, & even pop open Men’s Vogue when I’m Scanning the Shelves @ Books-A-Million.. I don’t think there’s a perfect look because I see many models with different looks, but they all have a few things in common.. These guys are swarmed by women (the hottest women), they get paid because of their looks (highly compensated), and probably feel a little cocky (which as you’ve probably noticed, a little “cocky confidence” is a GREAT ingredient in building attraction with the opposite sex!) Lets look at a few of these guys & see how they can freshen up our look..

Camilo Villegas Sets Fitness Trend on PGA Tour..

I’m a huge golfer and follow the PGA Tour quite a bit, so I’ve been paying attention to the new age vibe and trends being set. Tiger Woods has no doubt changed the dynamic of the sport, but there is a new a trend-setter in the spotlight that is re-inventing the way a golfer looks and takes care of himself!

Camilo Villegas is a 26-year Old Young Gun on the PGA Tour who graduated from the University of Florida (Blah! FSU’s my school.. I can’t support this UF stuff too much.. ha). He’s known for his “funky” way of reading putts by crouching down on the ground to be eye level with green to see the true break. This unique way of reading greens has earned him the nickname is “Spider Man” on tour. He grew up in Medellian, Colombia and is the new poster boy for young PGA Tour followers. I took a little golf trip to Miami a few weeks ago and got a chance to attend the Saturday Round @ The WCA Championship @ Doral Resort in Miami (Where Tiger’s streak of multiple tournaments won in a row came to a screeching halt). Dealing with the crowd following Tiger Woods is ridiculous so I branched off and followed Camilo for a few hours.
